The Cora Vinca that you see here is five plants intermingled with Purslane spilling over the rocks.  It was planted and -boom- this area was full of color.  It has stayed perfect and beautiful all summer long.  Other plants in my garden are starting to fade with the heat.  The Cora Vinca seems to be eating it up.  I’m sold!   Can’t wait for the cascading plant coming soon.

We always plant vinca by our pool each year. It’s the one flower that withstands the heat and ALWAYS has beautiful blooms. It even comes back each year!! Not all the plants, but we get several plants sprout up from the previous year. They are my favorite annual plant.

Pure white Cora Vinca surround pink Angelonia for an inviting welcome to our home for the second year in a row. They are especially beautiful on a moonlit night. Cora is hands down one of the best flowers ever - disease resistant and heat tolerant - we adore Cora!

I can’t say enough about the Cora Vinca! This is my third yr. planting them in my landscaping, and what a standout! They are the crown jewels for my front walkway and can be seen all the way down the block. Cars stop, stare and ask me what they are and where I have purchased them. The compliments keep coming. Thanks Calloway’s!

We planted the Cora Vinca’s on our son Nicholas’ grave early June. The cemetery does not have a sprinkler system but the flowers are thriving. These happy flowers somehow make it easier to visit his grave and you cannot help but smile when you see them. This is such a nice change from dried and dead flowers. Thank you Calloways Flower Mound for the wonderful recommendation.

I planted Cora Vinca last year in flower beds & in a container with a hibiscus. In Dec., I assumed the Vinca would die & replaced the bed with pansies.  I left the container alone so I could save the hibiscus for next year. The Vinca did NOT die and came back strongly! My 9-year-old son, Jordan, planted 11 Vincas in a bed and they’re blooming better than mine!  Even a child can grow these!

My family is from South Florida where Vinca bushes are common. When I saw them at Calloway’s, I had to buy several. They remind me of home. Since Cora Vincas are bred to be hardy enough to survive the summer heat here in Texas, I happily bought them. They have stood up to the challenge, producing flowers steadily throughout the hottest days. We are very happy to have them here in our Texas garden.

This is a long bed down our driveway which gets full Texas heat and sun. I got my green thumb and love of gadening from my Mom who is no longer able to work in the flowerbeds so I have taken over and she sits in chair and watches me work which is very hard for her not to do anything. The end result is she gets to enjoy the flowers.

Cora Vinca periwinkles are a great annual companion plant for my perennial border of Summer Phlox and Lythrum. This is the second year I’ve planted them. I love the fact that they are so carefree. Nothing bothers them — 105 degrees, high humidity, or heavy thunderstorms. They flourish all summer long and only get more and more beautiful!

My Cora Vincas are beautiful and hardy.

The hot Texas sun does not make them wilt or fade. Their colors stay bright day after day. The rain only makes them grow taller and more beautiful. My white Cora Vincas are gorgeous at night. My only regret is that I did not plant more of them. I get lots of complements on my yard. Thank you Cora Vinca.

Plants that survive the Texas heat are one thing. Finding one that survives planting by little hands is quite another. Every time we see the ‘Cora’ Vinca bloom we remember the family time when we planted our first tray - and how proud Andrew is of “his” flowers. The first thing he planted that actually survived - and keeps coming back. A master gardener in the making with the help of ‘Cora’ Vinca!

This is the first year I have planted Cora Vinca periwinkles. I planted them throughout my front yard flowerbeds and in pots. They were tiny little plants at first and have now more than quadrupled in size. I love the fact that they do not require deadheading or extra care. They are such a lovely addition to my garden with their consistent blooms. I will definitely plant Cora Vincas again next year!

With such color and grace,

They love the hot sun,

In heavy rains, they survive.

Big and strong, they grow;

Bright and pretty, they thrive.

Move over, Zinnias.

Out of the way, roses.

Cora Vinca’s are tough enough to withstand heat, drought, near-hurricane force winds, grubs, rabbits - but most importantly a baby and 5 yr old who love to pick the robust, brightly colored petals! (Note the petals on the ground). We always leave room (can you believe there are only 4 planted in May in this picture?) for these fast growing annuals in the front of the bed and for pots.

We like our Cora’s in pots. We have the 2 varieties shown in pots and planters on our patio where they receive blazing heat in full Texas sun. They will continue to grow and bloom until the first freeze. We used to try the Sun impatiens, but Cora’s are so superior and reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended!

I don’t know why I planted more Cora Vinca plants a couple of months ago. Did I think my past little plants would fail me? Did I think that under that blank space of a flower bed there was nothing happening? Well just when the begonias were feeling that dreadful June we had, up popped several little Cora Vinca seedlings. Some of these were babies I had transplanted. They never fail me year after year!

After living in Africa for 15 years as missionaries, we moved to the hot climate of Texas!  Loving hot weather plants, we went immediately for the Vinca reminding us of Africa.  In Uganda I found Vinca growing through the cracks of the sidewalk at a village school.  If they could grown there, they could surely grow well here in Texas!  Thanks Calloway’s! The Vinca have grown so huge we’ve had to trim them back.
